If you have an abandoned underground storage tank (UST) - call us today and we'll get it out of the ground for you.

You may think the tank is empty but likely residual sludge and some product was left in the tank. If the tank gets a hole in it than this sludge and product will make its way into the ground and potentially into the groundwater.

Do you need an SPCC Plan

SPCC = Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure Plan
If you have more than 1,320 gallons of petroleum storage in drums, aboveground tanks or containers larger than 55 gallons than you need an SPCC Plan.

SPCC is a federal mandated program that has been in existence since 1972.

SPCC-regulated facilities are subject to EPA inspections.

Compliance with SPCC regulations is more than environmental protection. It's also necessary to prevent penalties that could cost up to $37,500 per day.

Verterre was an exhibitor at the November 4, 2010 Fall Green Mountain Water Environmental Association Conference. We handed out pint glasses (which were a hit) and one lucky winner took home a great chocolate gift basket. Thanks to everyone who visited our booth.

Lake Champlain Spills Conference 2010

Verterre was a sponsor and participant at the Lake Champlain Spills Conference held at Clinton Community College on September 16, 2010. Panel discussions at the conference included multi-jurisdictional response to spills that involve Lake Champlain and a case study presentation of the Middlebury rail incident.

GPR used to find a grave in Waterville

We recently helped a cemetary in Waterville, Vermont determine is an older portion of its cemetery contained a grave. It was not uncommon to bury people that had little money in the outskirts of a cemetery in unmarked graves. We were able to locate the grave for the cemetery.

GPR Offering

Verterre has recently purchased a ground penetrating radar (GPR) device, broadening our services to be offered to both existing and prospective clients. A GPR can be used to locate and map underground utilities and underground storage tanks. Additionally, the GPR can be used for concrete inspections and archaeological investigations.
